The University of Port Harcourt Teaching Hospital, through its School of Social Development and Occupational Therapy (SOSDOT) in collaboration with the Medical Social Services Department (MSSD), has announced a specialized certificate programme aimed at strengthening capacity in social care and therapeutic services.
The programme, titled “Social Work Interventions & Instrumentation Therapy/Social Care Services,” is designed as a comprehensive two-month training for individuals seeking to build or enhance their skills in social work practice and patient-centered care.

This intensive certificate course is structured to provide participants with practical knowledge and hands-on experience in modern social work interventions, as well as therapeutic and care service delivery. It is particularly suited for professionals and aspiring practitioners in healthcare, social services, and related fields.
The training will run from May 2nd to June 27th, 2026, and will be conducted as a weekend programme, making it accessible for working professionals.
