About Us

Our driving objective at UPTH is to become a world class quartenary hospital, using cutting edge technology and highly developed human resources to render excellent medical care/services to the good people of Rivers State and beyond in-order to markedly reduce the number of patients seeking medical tourism abroad.

UPTH SECURITY UNIT

There are presently two security companies on contract at the University of Port Harcourt Teaching Hospital. They are Jinkaku Security Limited which covers the main hospital and Erekabo Security Service Limited which secures the UPTH Health Center Aluu and Doctors Quarters Aluu.
Besides these firms, the hospital has a formidable Internal Security Operatives Unit headed by Mr. Oba IBinabo. The Internal Security Operatives are full-time staff of the hospital and they play cohesive roles in the security apparatus of the hospital. These Internal Operatives include:

As expected, the primary duty of the Security Unit of the UPTH is the protection of lives and property within and around the hospital. Being the first point of contact at the main gates of the UPTH, the Security Unit also directs patients and controls the flow of traffic in and out of the grounds of the hospital. In the event of patient-staff misunderstandings, the Security Unit plays a mediation role as well. Visitors are assured of the professional and adequate management and maintenance of security at the University of Port Harcourt Teaching Hospital.
