 O&G Department: Receives Multi Parameter Patient Monitor.

On Friday 28th July, 2023 the Hospital Management and the leadership of Obstetrics and Gynaecology (O&G) department received members of Rotary club of Port Harcourt, with Rotary Club of Choba Uniport, Rotary Club of Port Harcourt Medical Towers, Rotary Club of Aluu New Dawn, Rotary Club of Uniport and Godify Towers for the donation of a multi parameter patient monitor.

The multi parameter patient monitor was donated by the Rotary club groups in recognition of the month of July which is designated world wide as “Maternal and Child Health” month. The president of Rotary Club of Port Harcourt Medical Towers, Rotarian Madonna Wichendu stated that “when you have a woman under continuous monitoring we have a better outcome because you would be alerted in an event of any unforeseen circumstances “.

The Head of Department of O & G Professor Rosemary Ogu, on behalf of the Chief Medical Director and the management extended their appreciation to all the rotary clubs of Port Harcourt assuring that the department will put the donation to good use with Prof. Datonye Alasia, The Chairman, Medical Advisory Committee (CMAC) UPTH stating that it would serve the benefits of the patients the donation was made for.

The multi parameter patient monitor provide a comprehensive understanding of patient by giving a broader monitoring scope. It provides reading such as heart rate, central venous pressure, non-invasive blood pressure, ECG, SpO2, PaCO2 and invasive blood pressure and temperature.
