Neuropsychiatry Department’s week long activities marking 2024 World Mental Health Day climaxed with competitive sports activities (Inter House Sport ) on Saturday, 19th October
The event featured Male/Female 50 metres race,Egg race,Sack race,Blind race,Penalty contest,Aerobic exercise that was followed with presentation of award to winning “Houses” and staff.
In a brief chat with the department’s media personnel, the Head Of Department, Neuropsychiatry, Dr Frances Adiukwu affirmed the commitment of the department to excellent Mental Health Management; in line with Prof Henry Ugboma led management’s vision of a proactive and responsive Tertiary Health Care Template.
In her words: “the sports event is meant to encourage Work/Life balance,improve team synergy, staff bonding and morale building for better service delivery;in tandem with this year’s Mental Health Day theme that highlights the prioritization of Mental Health in the work place”.
The sports activities took place within the hospital (UPTH) complex and had most of the clinical and non clinical staff of the department participate in the exercise .
