On the 30th of April 2024, the former Head of Nursing, Nurse Gloria Daminabo Ogan was celebrated, sent forth, and did an official handover to the new Head of Nursing in the person of Mrs Dorcas Victor Maxwell.
It was an event of worthy honor, recognition of service and excellence in leadership.
The Chief Medical Director (CMD) of the hospital and management team was fully represented, alongside predecessors of Head of Nursing, social groups and entire Nurses in the hospital.
While he commended the effort of the Nurses, the CMD counselled that they all support the New Head of Nursing. In his words, “a leader is successful because of the followers”. He also promised to add to the number of Nurses in the hospital as there’s need for more hands. In a bid to support, he also highlighted the need to always protect the hospital and that the hospital’s school of nursing/BSc program is also in view and everyone should look forward to it.
He ended his speech by encouraging a collective effort to support the New HON and be well represented in character and service.
The event ended with a presentation of a meritorious award to the outgoing HON, accompanied by presentation of gifts by other social groups and clubs.
