Who We Are

The UPTH Occupational Health Clinic is a specialized service unit under the Department of Community Medicine, University of Port Harcourt Teaching Hospital. We provide evidence-based occupational health services that protect worker health, support employer compliance with regulatory standards, and promote workplace safety and productivity. Our team works with public institutions, private companies, offshore operations and communities, delivering care that is clinically sound and tailored to each work setting.

OUR SERVICES

We offer a wide range of occupational health services to meet your organization’s needs and regulatory obligations. We serve small business, industries, institutions, and individuals through clinical care, workplace interventions, and health education. We work closely with employers to design practical solutions that improve employee health and minimize workplace risks.

Medical Fitness Assessments

We conduct pre-employment, pre-placement, annual medical assessments, return-to-work evaluations, and pre-retirement screenings. We also provide statutory medicals for seafarers and drivers, ensuring they meet the physical and psychological standards required for their roles.

Food Handlers Medicals

We carry out regular health screenings for food service workers to ensure compliance with hygiene regulations and reduce the risk of foodborne illnesses.

Domestic Staff Medicals

Health evaluations for household staff, including physical screenings and assessments of mental wellbeing. These checks help promote safety, trust, and overall household health.
