
The Foundation for Child Diabetes Awareness in Nigeria (FFCDAIN) in collaboration with the Paediatrics endocrinology and diabetes unit of the University of Port-Harcourt Teaching Hospital (UPTH) organized an event aimed at creating awareness and an educational program supporting children with diabetes.
With over a hundred children in attendance there was a need to introduce a better and healthy lifestyle to enable them conquer the disease.


The Paediatrics endocrinology and diabetes unit was well represented as both Doctors, Nurses, and Dietician were in attendance.
There were sessions for nutritional information. A demonstration showing healthier snack alternatives and diabetes friendly recipes was displayed. There were a series of blood sugar and eye tests by Pro-sight international eye foundation. There was also an overview on diabetes, camps and self care by Prof. T. Jaja.
People living with diabetes shared their experiences and insights.

Many activities took place both in picture and video representations for kids to comprehend better the lifestyle being introduced to them.
The event ended with a question and answer session handled by the panelist.
