In successive years the hospital community has maintained a culture of beginning the year with a rededication service to formally hand over her activities to Almighty God for his blessings and guidance through the unveiling year. This year was no exception , as the Chief medical director, Professor Henry A. Ugboma led management and staff for the service, held at the administrative complex.
Sermon was delivered by the General overseer Christian, Pentecostal Mission (CPM), Rev. Marius Alugwe. Rev Alugwe delivering his message from the bible lessons – Psalm 121, Daniel 5:22-30, says there is wisdom in the choice of the institution to hold a rededication service, for which the institution will enjoy divine help. His admonition was for staff to be committed to God and to the institution to help their patients. He says “God wants to pass through this institution to keep people from dying untimely “. In his charge he said ” your hands can be miracle , your words should care and calm the pains of your patients” and to care for fellow staff and handle medical facilities responsibly .
The Chief medical director, Professor Henry Ugboma in his remarks assured staff that
“this year will be our best year, ..our God is faithful and kind, this hospital shall stand for what it is meant to be”. He advised staff to have good attitude to work , to treat patient with respect and to make sure as staff no one is found wanting on the job because they will be left behind.
He appreciated the leadership of the chapel (UPTH chapel) led by Dr. Somiari Harcourt for coordinating the program, affirming that things are changing for good and will continue to be, as long as staff give their best to work .
The CMD, CMAC, Prof. Datonye Alasia, Director of administration, Ereibi Wadiri represented management and staff for the rededication prayers as led by Rev. Marius Alugwe. Members of the hospital management committee and staff gathered for the service which held in the early hours of Wednesday, 10th January 2024.
