Staff, patients and friends of the care of elderly person’s unit (CEPU) gathered to celebrate this year’s end of year with a beautiful ceremony.
The head of CEPU, Prof. Ilanye Bell-Gam at the event marking the unit’s end of year made it clear that “old age is not a disease, and should rather be seen as a blessing” . She also disapproved the conception that CEPU is an old people’s home but should be seen as a center for acute geriatric care .
Celebrating with the unit is the Chief medical director , Prof. Henry Ugboma represented by the DCMAC Research, grants and innovations Prof. B.O Braimoh who commended CEPU team and welcomed everyone who made it to the event. DCMAC Prof. T. Jaja who also graced the occasion gave the toast to better seasons for health services, especially in geriatric care in Nigeria.
The event featured other activities which includes a dancing competition won by an occupational therapist. Songs presentation and refreshments for guests.
