The management of the University of Port Harcourt Teaching hospital (UPTH) received a delegation of THINCF who were in the hospital for it’s 45th regular meeting.
The leadership of THINCF before receding for their meeting paid a courtesy call to the management of the hospital
National Chairman Medical and Health workers union of Nigeria (MHWUN) , who is also National Vice President of the Tertiary Health Institutions National Consultative Forum (THINCF)Comrade Dr Hassan Ahmed led the delegation on the visit. Intimating management on the purpose of their visit said, the union appreciates UPTH for being one of the teaching hospitals that have the best staff welfare in Nigeria, and thanked the management for allowing the union use its facilities for this meeting .
Ahmed however disclosed that the aim of visit is also to remind management to include Call duty allowance, promotion arrears, hazard allowance, Covid 19 inducement allowance, uniform allowance for Health assistant staff among others that are yet to be received by staff members. He further appealed to management to work hand in hand with the Union for the delivery of these expectations.
Receiving the team unbehalf of the Chief Medical Director Professor Henry A Ugboma, and management, the Chairman Medical Advisory Committee Professor Datonye Alasia welcomed the team and assured the union that management will do everything within its capacity to resolve the issues mentioned, he further wished the union a wonderful meeting as they proceed.

she also admonished everyone present to pray that the current leadership of the union will continue to protect workers in all ramifications.
The National President Comrade Dr Kabiru Ado Sani who was represented by the NLC chairman Delta state comrade Goodluck urged members to remain peaceful even as they continue to press home their demands with the Federal Government.
Other members of management present to receive members of the union were DCMAC’S Professor T Jaja , Dr E. Nkoye , Head of Establishment, Bar Rose James , PRO Meni Elabha among others.
