Procurement & Stores Department

This Department whose duties include Procuring goods, works and services was properly established in July 2018 by the Chief Medical Director Prof H.A.A. Ugboma following the BPP Act 2007.

The Department comprises of 11 personnel as follows:         

  1. 10 Procurement officers
  2. 1 No. Principal Procurement Officer and
  3.  Head of Procurement Department.

UNITS UNDER PROCUREMENT

The Units are as follows with their various Units Heads.

  1. STORES UNIT
  2. PRICE INTELLIGENCE UNIT
  3. PROJECT EVALUATION UNIT

STORES UNIT:
This unit is as old as the hospital. It was established when the hospital was still called General Hospital located at Emohua. The unit is responsible for receiving, storing, documenting and issuing of items procured by the Hospital, also items donated to the Hospital by various NGOs and Federal  Ministry of Health. The unit has a working strength of 19 personnel with a unit Head reporting to the Head of Procurement.

PRICE INTELLIGENCE UNIT:
This is the unit that is responsible for conducting market survey; keep comprehensive price data of hospital equipment, consumables, stationeries, reagents and cleaning items.

PROJECT EVALUATION UNIT:
This unit is responsible for evaluating projects and equipment bided by the contractors before awards. The unit is being headed by the quantity surveyor with work strength of 4 personnel; he also reports to the Head of Procurement.
