CMD ASSURES AKPOR KINGDOM

The people of Akpor Kingdom Host to the University of Port Harcourt Teaching Hospital have been assured of better and improved relationship by the Management of the Teaching Hospital.

Chief Medical Director Prof. Henry A. A. Ugboma gave the assurance when he led some members of his Management team on a courtesy visit to the Nyeweali Akpor, the Traditional Ruler of Akpor Kingdom his Highness Justice Orlu Oriebe at his palace.

Prof. Ugboma said the visit is to felicilitate with the Akpor Monarch, as well as to familiarize the host community with the new Management team led by him.

He thanked the Akpor Kingdom for their Hospitality and cooperative disposition, promising that Management will do all within its power to build upon the existing cordial relationship between it and the teaching hospital, especially in the areas of employments, contract awards as prescribed by law.

Receiving the delegation in his palace, the Akpor Monarch His Highness Justus Orlu Oriebe tasked new Management team led by Prof. Ugboma to do everything towards improving the level and quality of relationship between the Hospital and the Akpor host community.

The Akpor Monarch used the visit to assure the CMD and his delegation that he will use his office as traditional ruler to sustain the hospitality and peaceful disposition of his people.

He charged the new Management team to seek ways and explore avenues towards improving on the quality of healthcare service delivery, in order to restore the fortunes of the Teaching Hospital.

Chairman Medical Advisory Committee Professor Princewill Stanley in a brief vote of thanks, expressed Management’s gratitude for the warm reception and valuable advice.

He assured that Management will always consult the monarch when taking certain critical decisions that concern issues of host communities.

The delegation comprised of Dr. Ocheli Emmanuel, Dr. (Mrs.) Onyia, Dr. Richard Oko-Jaja, Mr. Akie Hart, Mrs. Pat Akor, Dr. Ajuru Gospel, Mr. Kem Daniel-Elebiga and Mr. Obah.
