The Assisted Conception Unit of the University of Port Harcourt Teaching Hospital (UPTH) witnessed the delivery of their first SET OF TWIN BABIES on Friday, 29th May 2020.
The hospital handled the collection, transfer, and eventual delivery of the babies. The mother who was registered in the UPTH Antenatal Clinic is 42 years old and has been married for over nine years. The babies were delivered at 37 weeks through a cesarean section, with a weight of 2.4kg and 1.8kg respectively.
The hospital’s Assisted Conception Unit have had successful deliveries since its inception in 2018, of which this was the 4th and remarkably, the first set of Twins.
