The Management of the University of Port Harcourt Teaching Hospital has promised to take steps towards ensuring improved cordial relationship with the three communities that make up Aluu Clan. Chief Medical Director Professor Henry A. A. Ugboma made the promise when he led a high powered delegation of Management on a courtesy visit to the Aluu Council of Chiefs.
Professor Ugboma assured that host Communities including Aluu, will be given special consideration when the next replacement exercise gets underway, while Paramount Rulers of the three communities will receive free medical care and efforts made to engage relevant authorities to look into ways of repairing internal roads that are in a very deplorable state. He however frowned at illegal occupants of the Hospital’s properties within Aluu Community, hoping that through ongoing collaborative efforts with members of the Aluu CDC, such matters will eventually be resolved. Earlier, spokesperson of the council of chiefs Chief Collins Amadi commended the Professor Ugboma led administration for embarking on the restoration of the hospital’s lost Glory.
Chief Collins also appealed to Management to consider posting additional nurses and provision of backup power supply to the Primary Health centre within the community.
Among the Management team’s delegation were the Chairmen Medical Advising Committee Professor Princewill Stanley, Deputy Chairperson MAC Dr. Ochelli Emmanuel, Dr. (Mrs) Onyia, Dr. Richard Oko-Jaja, Mrs. Boma Tom-Manuel, Mr. Johnson, Mr. Kem Daniel-Elcbiga, Dr Ajuru Gospel, Mr. Obah, Mr Ejike Otonna amongst others. The visit to Aluu Host community is the first by the CMD and his Management team, as he had earlier paid a similar visit to Alakahia community soon after his assumption of office.
