The Management of the University of Port Harcourt Teaching Hospital has promised greater cooperation with the state chapter of the Nigerian Medical Association (NMA).
Chief Medical Director Professor Henry A. A. Ugboma gave the promise when he played host to a seven-person delegation of the newly elected state executive of the NMA, who were on a courtesy visit to the hospital.
Professor Ugboma while congratulating the new executive on their electoral victory, commended the composition and character of the new state exco.
He listed out the some achievements of his Management team including steady power supply, greater investment in staff training, resuscitation of incinerator, better functioning I.C.U, as well as the liquidation of debts owed by the Pharmacy Department.
Earlier, the state NMA Chairman Dr.(Mrs) Adedeji Obelebra, while thanking the UPTH Management for the opportunity to meet and interact, listed out some areas of possible cooperation.
Dr.(Mrs) Obelebra who led the six-person state executive, solicited the Management’s support and assistance towards the hosting of the forthcoming National Doctors Sports Festival Billed for 2020.
Members of Management present during the visit include Chairman Medical Advisory Committee Professor Stanley Princewill, Acting Director of Administration Mr. Akie Hart, Deputy Chairman Medical Advisory Committee Dr. Ocheli Emmanuel and Dr. (Mrs) Onyia, Deputy Director of Account Mr. Paul Okpalo, Assistant Director Nursing Services Mrs. Patricia Gad Harry, Assistant Director of Pharmacy Mrs. Victoria Uku as well as members of Hospital Management Committee (HMC).
