The Board of Management of the University of Port Harcourt Teaching Hospital which was recently constituted by the Federal Government has held its Inaugural (106th) meeting
Chairman of the board his Excellency Muktar Ahmed Anka, who presided over the meeting, later joined his colleagues for an interactive session with Heads of Departments and Units, as well as professional association and workers union.
Muktar Ahmed Anka in his opening remarks expressed the board’s appreciation for the warm reception and hospitality accorded them within the period of their stay and tour of the hospital.
He called for cooperation between Management and Staff in other to restore the fortunes of the hospital, “I assure you that the board will do its best to cooperate with the unions and management to push the hospital’s cases with the ministry of health and other organizations that will help restore UPTH to its glory days”.
The Chief Medical Director Professor Henry A. A. Ugboma, had earlier conducted the board members on a guided tour of the undeveloped portions of land being encroached upon, House Officers Quarters, Guest House, the Power Plant as well as the Mortuary Complex.
